CLUB EVENTS
Sunday Series
The Sunday series racing starts on March 16th 2008. Certain Sundays are set aside for special events and these are detailed in a later section.
The Sunday racing is divided into three separate series, Spring,Summer, and Autumn.
Time of Starts
Race 1 Morning Allcomers - 11.45
Race 2 Class Handicap -----14.00 and then at 5 minute intervals
Race 3 Class ----------------15.45 and then at 5 minute intervals
Saturday Series
Saturday racing is divided into an early series and a late series.
There are two Allcomer races with the first starting at 14.15 and the second starting at 15.45
Thursday Series
Thursday racing comprises a single series with one Allcomers Race starting at 19.15.
Sunday Frostbite Series
The Frostbite series follows the Autumn Series. There are two allcomer races with the first starting at 13.00, race 2 at 14.30 approx.
Monday Specials
Special races are held on most Bank Holiday Mondays with prizes/trophy to be won on most occasions - see Calendar & Notice Board for details
SPECIAL RACES
Easter Trophy
Three Allcomer races with two to count (all three in a draw), with the first start at 11.30.
George Finch Pursuit
Race starts at 13.30 with Optimists, other boats go after with staggered starts. The aim is to make all boats sail a time equal to 10% of their PY handicap in minutes
All Night Race
A 12 hour Allcomers race starting at 21.00
Charity Regatta
Three Allcomer races with two to count (all three in a draw), with first start at 11.30.
Rivals Cup
A team pursuit race between fleets, starting at 11.00 with staggered starts.
Scott Wheel Pursuit
As The George Finch except that boat/helm combinations are given a personal handicap (instead of PY handicap) based on past performance. Starting time for the scratch Optimist is 13.30.
Kay Ward Junior Trophy
A Juniors-only Allcomers Race for helmsmen and crews 18 years old and under on the day of the race.
MNSC Regatta
The main fleet sailing event of the year, with trophies for all classes. There are three class races, two to count (all three in a draw) with first start at 11.30.
Edgar Cooper Tankards
A long duration Allcomers Race that starts at 14.00 and aims to end with the bulk of fleet (with PY around 1150) finishing around 16.00. Prizes for this event are Pewter Tankards to keep.
Anniversary Cup Pursuit
